    About fifty broque-makers lived in Burgoo and every monday morning broques were displayed in the windows of every second house in that street. A man named Barry made nails. He had fourteen men working for him. They were hand-made nails. They used to cut the iron a quater of an inch square. The iron they had for the nails was very crude and there fingers were threadbone. They made all types of nails, for clogs, and broques and it was a great industry.
    Betty Conway of Burgoo brought to the school a pair of clogs which belonged to her grandmother. Jim Graham of Ashbury made clogs. He is still aive and told one that
