  1. Up to forty-five years ago a man named John Large had his shop where Mr. Healy now has his drapery shop in Main Street. He made two kinds of candles. Dip candles and Mill candles. He had an appartus for making them which is still in Mr. Healy's place. The dip candles were sold at twelve for one penny but the Mill candles were sold four for sixpence. Both kinds were made of tallow but the Mill candles had a double cord through them so they had
