    Now-a-days the marriage ceremony is always performed in the church. Sometimes it is private which means that just a few friends are invited. At other times a big number of friends are present at the ceremony, and at the wedding breakfast. The newly-married pair generally go on their honeymoon to some fashionable place on the day of their marriage.
    Some days and months are considered unlucky for marriage, others are considered lucky.

    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday fro crosses
    Friday for losses
    Saturday the worst day of all
    Married in January hoar and rime, good things will come, if you wait your time.
    Married in February sleety weather, life you'll tread in tune together.
    Married when March winds shrill and roar, your home will be on a foreign shore.
    Married 'neath Aprils changeful skies, a chequered path before you lies.
