  2. There are many forts in the vicinity in which I live. They consist of a clump of trees in a ring. It is said to be very dangerous to cut any of those trees, as a calamity befalls the person who does so. Many people see lights in them at night and hear music. Some people say they were built by the Danes. I heard of a man who cut down trees in a fort. A thorn went into his leg and he died from it.
