    It is unlucky to leave the house without water on a Saturday night.
    It is lucky to sweep the hearth clean going to bed, and leave two chairs by the fire, and a cup of water on the table.
    It is supposed the dead come back to their own house.
    When you borrow a hatching hen it is lucky to give a penny to the person from whom you get the hen.
    If you swop a thing do not give it back again. Give a thing.
