    When Easter comes early it is said that Summer weather may be expected earlier than usual and when late Summer comes late. When one gets a mild winter it is said to be followed by a bad summer. "A Green Christmas makes a fat churchyard".
    If it rains on St Swithens Day rain usually follows for forty days.
    When the sun shines early in the morning one may expect a broken day. When the moon lies on her side it indicates bad weather to come and when upright a good omen. A ring around the moon indicates storms. An early appearance of the stars in the evening hearlds frost. Clouds having the appearance of a Swans Neck is a sign of rain. When Keeper Mountain wears a cap it is the sign
