    You patriotic Irish men of high and low degree.
    Come bend an ear and you will hear my tale of misery.
    For since my sentence has been passed
    No daylight did I see.
    And no one but the Holy Priest to sympathise with me.

    One night while meditating upon my heavenly home.
    A voice like death says "Rise up Bourke"
    and speak to brave Wolf Tone.
    For here stand Lord Edward and Robert Emmet too.
    To cheer your lonely spirit up before you meet your doom.
