    skimmed and that was the kind of milk the people drank. In olden times people always worked a few hours before breakfast. In the centre of the floor the people used to eat and when the table was not in use it was left along the side of the wall. It was always a "Canvas" cloth that was used for a table cloth. If there were two tables in the house one table was put on top of the other when not in use. The salt meat was used twice every week on Thursdays and Sundays. The vegetables that were used were, cabbage and turnips.
