  1. James Reidy who lived at the Commons Ballingarry and now living in America was a local Poet. He composed several songs about the Ballingarry hurlers. One that is sung locally is "The vales of Ballino." He got the gift of poetry from his ansestors. The poet was a farmer. He could read and write. He composed it about 30 years ago.
