  1. The Paddocks were said to be haunted long ago. About 12 o'clock at night. A man by the name of Mr. Burtell was coming home from a wake. He was making a short - cut home. He met a man dressed in black clothes in the Paddocks and he got an awful fright. When the man reached home he died immediately. Mr. John Mc. Cann, Caherhennessy, Ballingarry was coming home from the Sparr. He came across the Paddocks as it was a short cut home. He thought he was making his way all night. When he thought that he was at home he found himself in Ballingarry again. He tried this three times, and eash time he was set astray.
