  1. O'Neill of Adare was a famous runner some few years ago. He won several prizes for Marathan Racing.
    Johnny Mc Cann of Castletown ran after a hare and caught him. He is dead about twenty years now.
    Maurice Hourigan Doonbeirne, Ballingarry was a great runner. He won a five mile race at Kilmallock for which he won a bicycle.
    Mr. Mc. Enery Derryclough Ballingarry was another great runner. He won a seven mile race by road. He won clocks, bicycle
