  1. The nearest fairs in this locally are held in Drumcollogher. They are held once a month. In Charleville, New castle West, Rathkeale, and Drumcollogher all the fairs are held in the town. When an animal is bought at a fair the purchaser marks the beast with a thing called a raddle or scissors When the buyer is paying for a beast he always gives some money for luck. The biggest fairs held in Drumcollogher are held the 3rd of December the 31st of December and the 24th of August The largest horse fair is held in cahiramee on the 12th of July.
