  1. Weather Lore
    During the Harvest Season the farmers are anxious to save their crops from rain and are always looking for signs of fine weather. They say a red sky in the evening is a sure sign that the following day will be fine or on a Summers morning if a fog is seen all around and going out over the hills is also a sign of a fine day. But if a mist is seen coming in over the hills it is the sign of a wet day.
    Some people say that a rainbow seen in the sky in the morning is the sign of a bad day. There is an old proverb '' A rainbow in the morning is a Shepherds warning and a rainbow in the night is the Shepherds delight.'' THe South- Westerly wind brings most rain to my district and the North wind brings snow. Birds flying low is also a sign of wet weather and if a cat is seen by the fire it is said that it denotes rain. In the Summer time if the dust is seen rising off the road and insects flying around in the shades of the evening it is
