- Dan Ahern Knockfinisk was a very good dancer. He principally danced the reel and hornpipe. He was taught by Michael Murphy who was the dancing master in Carrickerry in the year 1898. Thomas Kelly Athea was known as a famous singer his favourite song was O'Donnell Abú. Patrick Hunt Athea was also a good singer. Denis Doody of Temple Athea was supposed to be a very good dancer. The steps he danced were the jig reel and horn-pipe. He was taught by Mr. Ahern of Glenagore East about twenty five years ago.Written by Kitty Danaher

- John Enright Coole West Athea was a noted dancer. He principally danced an Irish gig and an Irish Reel. They were taught in dancing schools and by a man named Mr. McCoy David Quaid Dirreen Athea was a famous singer and story teller. He generally liked to sing The Wearing of the Green and St. Patrick's Day. Related by Mrs. Dore Clash Athea 70 years.
