    In Glin castle groves I have oft times roamed,
    Where the small birds sweetly sing,
    The parrott, the thrush, from bush to bush,
    Do make the valleys ring.
    The cuckoo and the nightingale be deck,
    the woods all round,
    And I regret the day I left the shades
    of sweet Glin town.
    Get up you pretty fair maids and come
    along with me
    To the land of diamonds strange faces for
    to see.
    I'll dress you like a lady with costly robes
    all round
    And your way I'll pay to America my maid
    from sweet Glin Town.
    'Twas on the fifth of May my boys from Queenstown we sailed,
    Commanded by a hero brave John Russell was his name,
    Codmmanded by a hero belonging to Belfast town,
