With their lovely blue eyes and sweet golden hair
The're as sweet as young girls as ever was seen
But they cant knock a shine out of those at Trapeen
    Chorus:-
    V
There is a fair lass in the East Holy Ground
But her name to keep secret I am duty bound
She plays all kinds of music and "God save the Queen"
But she cant knock a shine out of those at Trapeen
    Chorus:-
This song was sung by the sailors who came home on leave to Whitegate. It was composed by a man named Maurice Fleming who died about thirty five years ago. He was believed to be a sailor. He was also a great singer.
