A quantiy of littering
Scouring for covering turf etc.Use of horses to draw home turf, and put out manure, or draw in earth to yard for making manure.Sour milk for baking

Grass of a few sheepPermission to gather horse-dung (Boulathaidhthe) on the land (These were made into heaps near the fences and drawn into yard and mixed with the earth to make a compost for following year's potato crop)Note- The manure heap was nearly always opposite the front of house, so that it would have the benefit of all waste water thrown from the house.Labourers wages were from 2/6 to 4/6 per week with free house
