- (continued from previous page)running of the stream and that some of the coins are being carried down stream. Many boys and grown up people too have searched along the banks of the stream in the hope of discovering the hidden treasure but so far they have not been successful.
- It is said there was gold hidden by Sir Thomas Phelan of Glasgow, Scotland, in the Corrin Hill, about one and a half miles from Fermoy. Many attempts have been made to roof it, but so far no one has been successful. One man who made an attempt was Jack Noonan, Cashel, Co. Tipperary. He dug the ground twenty-five feet, three inches deep. Another man by the name of Tom Blake, Mallow, Co. Cork, dug it twenty feet, five inches deep.
