  1. There is a glen in Araglen called Cnoc Bán. It is in the townland of Gortnaskehy in the parish of Kilworth and in the barony of Condons and Clangibbons. It is said that Mass used be said in this glen in the penal times. There are trees growing on each side of the glen, and there is a small level piece of land at the bottom of it. On this level land there was an alter made of sods and the ruins of it are to be seen yet. It was in that glen the people of my district used to hear Mass in the penal times.
