gone by. Mrs McGrath who was living where Mrs Mannix is living now tried to boil potatoes with the water.
They were on the fire for a long time and she was blowing and blowing the fire till she was tired. In the end her Husband came in looking for his dinner and when the potatoes were not boiling he got impatient and took the cover off the pot and put his hand in the water and found it was quite cold. After that they never used the water for anything but for drinking.
About forty years ago there was a pattern held there every Easter Sunday.
