  1. Carters, Chapel St, Castletownroche carry on the trade of basket-making, occasionally at present. Their father and uncles were also basket-makers.
    They made cradles and every kind of wicker-work.
    It was no uncommon sight to see the local newspaper distributor, Bill O'Leary carrying a new cradle on his back from C.T. Roche to Kildorrey 9 miles distant, as well as a bundle of "Examiners."
    Mr John Fitzgibbon and his sons carried on the trade of Coopering in Bridge St Castletownroche, up to about 40 years ago. They made firkins, barrels etc, and
