- HurlingIn former times, "scuaibin" was played, and twenty one men were on each side. The hurlies they used long ago were every kind of a stick whit a turn in it. the balls were made of thread and sewn with horse hair. Hurling was played between two parishes in olden times. The ball was thrown up centre ways and which ever side would hurl the ball into their own parish would win the day,. Hurling and football matches were played locally between two districts. The big games were played between parishes. The winner of the games were whoever kept the ball in their own parish. The ball was put in the bounds ditch between two parishes.
