    Sometimes it was packed fresh into boxes and sent to Cork or it was often salted and put into firkins and sent as salt butter.
    Butter-milk was supposed to be a most wholesome drink for both man and beast.
    If anyone came in while the churning was in progress they should take a turn at the churn, otherwise they would be suspected in trying to "carry the churn".
