    of rain. A great number of people were in the Boggoragh turf bogs cutting and footting turf had a never to be forgotten experience as the storm was particullarly severe over the Boggoragh Mountains. Three men whoes names are David O'Callaghan, Champion O'Leary and Denis O'Callaghan were killed while engaged in turf cutting. They were struck by the lightning.
