  1. When they are set in ridges a hole is made with a spade and the sgisollán is put in it and then the hole is closed. In a ridge they are planted three in the breadth.
    When they are re set in a drill the drill is opened with a plough and the manure is put in and then the sgiolláins are put on top of it about nine inches apart and the drill is closed again with the plough.
