    The wren, the wren the King of all birds,
    St. Stephen's Day he was caught in the furze.
    From bush to bush, from tree to tree
    Up on a ditch he broke his knee.
    I know you are a wealthy man
    And to your door I brought my (wren) ran
    Up with the kettle and down with the pot
    Give us our answer and let us be off.
