  1. My home district is Kilmeedy in the Parish of Millstreet and Barony of West Muskerry.
    There are 24 families in the townland and the family names most common are Desmond and Mahony. There are only four zinc-roofed houses and the rest are slated. The townland got its name from Chíll Ídé, Saint Ita's church.
    There are 15 persons over seventy and they all know Irish.

    Mr. and Mrs. Denis Reardon,
    Mr. and Mrs. Denis Desmond,
    Mr. Jeremiah Mc. Carthy,
    Mrs. Norah Horgan, Mrs. Ellen Corcoran, Mrs. Hannah Twomey Mrs. Bat Desmond, Mr. John T. Mahony and Mrs. John J.Mahony. All of them can tell stories in Irish and English.
    Houses were more numerous by twelve in former times. The 12 are now in ruins. People emigrated
