    In the all Ireland match between Cork and Tipperary,
    That was fought in the park by the banks of the Lee,
    Our Gaelic young boys were afraid of being beaten
    So they sent for bold Thady to Ballinagree.
    He hurled the ball right and left through their facings
    Showing the Tipperary boys action and skill
    And all round the field went the wild ringing chorus
    "Long life to you Thady our own Thady Quill."
