    One Summers morning early as over the fields I stayed.

    I saw a charming creature whose features did me amaze
    She sang a song so sweetly so queenly as she moved along
    I thought she was an angel ranging those fields along
    And on her lily hand a can did this maiden hold,
    With light and lively paces she hastened into a fold
    A hind, whose paps were flowing for milking maids who came
    With this adorned one to load up their shining pails.
    Her apparel was simple expensive and well arrayed
    She is affable and civil both gentle and well behaved
    Of parents well descended and kindred my love can claim
    Of chieftains long lamented
