  1. In olden times the old men of the district made toys to amuse small children.
    They made whistles from eleder and bamboo rods by cutting out the centre and then by making a small hole at one end.
    Writing pens were also made from the goose quill and they were considered better than the steel-pens now in use.

    The young girls of long ago made rag dolls, by filling a little bag with saw dust, tying a cord around the centre to form a waist putting two burnt matches for legs and a small chestnut stuck on for a head
