    Come, listen to my woe
    My lines are sad and mournful.
    They'll cause you tears to flow.
    Its of the boat Thomas Joseph.
    Gone down, no more to sail
    With six fond souls, their loving friends for ever more to wail.

    From the Island of Cape Clear
    He steered her o'er to Baltimore.
    To get aboard, new gear.
    Her engine is being ready.
    And nothing then seemed dull.
    So he next preposed to steer her o'er on a trial trip to Schull.

    Returning home with merry hearts, and every face aglow.
    They never thought their end was near.
    Till Neptune proved their foe
    The stars bright face, had hid a pace.
    And her engine kicked awhile
    On that very night they met their fate
