  1. On the northern shore of this peninsula near a place called "Locán na Bréigin", which some people say is a salmon hatchery there is a little inlet of the sea. It is about twenty four feet wide. On the westren side of this down on the hard bare rock there is the print of a shoe.
    It is said that this is the print of a priest's shoe. The place is called The priests Leap. Soldiers were hunting the priest along by the shore one day. He came to this inlet and stepped across. The soldiers had to go around which enabled the priest to get well ahead of them. He went in hiding farther west at "Bealeile" and in this way got away from the soldiers. The print of the priest's shoe remained on the rock where he stepped and can be seen to this day.
    There is a place below at Ahakista near where the priests house is now where Mass was said long ago. One morning when the priest was saying Mass there some of the scouts who were watching for the soldiers, said they were coming
