  1. The months thought unlucky for marriage are December and May. The day Monday Thursday and Wednesday are thought unlucky for marriage. When a girl was getting married she went to a neighbour's house to borrow gloves or stockings or something else.
    Something old, something new,
    Something borrowed and something blue.
    These were to be worn by the bride. When the bride is going out to get married it is the old custom to peg an old shoe after her.If the day is wet the bride is said to die but f the sun shines she will have a happy married life as stated in the following lines
    "Happy for the bride that the sun shines on
    Happy for the coffin as the rain falls on.
    When they are coming home they would like to meet a man as they think it
