  1. Its often I heard the old people make the remark: "How changed everything is since we were young, the young people to-day wear no home-mades, all straight from the shop. And if we ask them about their young days they will tell us the fireside industeries the old spinning wheels and weaving looms which changed the raw-wool into home made thread, which in turn was spun into stockings and baíníns for the young boys and girls. The flax was grown specially for the making of sheets which used last for twenty years.
