    Came up sweet Dublin Bay.
    Riding cross-legged on the back of a whale,
    Which gave him a lob into Ballydehob
    Saying: "Phadraig, you're welcome to green Innisfail

    The manner of his arrival was according to another tradition, quite as unique. It appears that when about to embark for his first mission to Ireland he was accosted by a leper, who begged to accompany him. The sailors stoutly objected to the presence of a leper in the ship, and the Saint thereupon cast into the sea an altar stone bore(?) St Patrick and the leper safely to the shores of Ireland.

    On a lump of a paving stone mounted
    The steam boat he beat by a mile
    Which mighty good sailing was counted(?)
