    He went along another while, and he met another woman, and he gave her another shilling. He went into shop "see if he would get anything to eat there" so he was not long inside in the shop when a man appeared to him and asked him funny questions. Jack said to the man then, that he would bet a pound with him that he would not change himself into a rat. He had not the words, said out of his mouth when the man changed into a rat, and after a while Jack took the rat and put him into a case he had with. Then he walked out of the shop, and went along a road that led to a mill. Jack told the man of the mill that he would bet a pound with him that he would not break the case in the mill. The man asked for the case, and he put it into the
