- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)in this parish of Kilgefin later than St Mochua as the graveyard of Kilgefin is still used. Very little is known of St Guithbhinn in this parish except he gave his name to our little parish.
The Old Castle of Mullaghashee.The ruins of this castle are situated on the extreme summit of Fairymount hill. and are locally known as ''the Steeple''.This was the ancient home of the fairies of Fairymount and the palace of Sig - mail - dhu, first king of the fairies of Fairymount.In 1792 Captain Mills of Fairymount, High Sheriff for Co Roscommon had a residence erected for himself on the western slope of Fairymount. It was afterwards burned by the Defenders in 1795 and later pulled down by Thomas Regan of Fairymount whose son Thomas now resides there. In 1818 a Protestant church was erected on the site of the old castle of Mullaghashee at the request of Captain Mills.
