    growing along the roadsides were uprooted and traffic was held up for over a week.
    The wind blew without ceasing for eight and a half hours and the old people say that had if lasted for another two hours there would not have been a house in the country districts but would have been left in ruins.
    The old people say also that this dreadful wind was caused by the Freemasons bringing up the Devil out of hell at one of their meetings, and that they could not get him back.
