  1. There lived an old man in our village long ago. He was a very quiet innocent good living man. He used (to) go to work in one place or other every day and this night he was coming home and it was late. The old people say that the fairies used play tricks on good living people.
    This night they took him on horse-back and he was going all night long and the fairies were laughing and joking with him and he knew the places where he was passing over-holes of potatoes and turnips and he was afraid that the neighbours would know in the morning that it was he that was crossing the potatoes.
