    Schools
There was an old school at the back of Pound Street behind Brian O'Hara's house. School was also taught in the Shambles. There is a big stone where the teacher used to sit.
The last school was where the power house now stands. Anthony O'Grady was the master. Mr O'Carrd used to teach Latin in the old chapel.
The school in the Shambles was hedge-school and the teacher was a wandering hedge-school master.
