  1. The period of the year that marriages generally take place are from January until Ash Wednesday. It is the custom to invite the friends and neighbours of both parties who go in cars to the Church.
    After the marriage they go for a drive and then return to the bride's home for refreshments.
    If there is a dance that night boys dressed in straw go to the house and dance with the bride and enjoy themselves for a while.
