- The south west wind is supposed to bring the most rain to this district. The north wind brings snow and sleet. If the wind is strong and high it is said that there will be rain before long.
The wild-geese, when seen coming are sure sign of storm. People around here also say, that when the ashes of the fire appears to look blue that there will be a storm. When a cat starts to scrape the foot of a table, or a chair or anything else made of wood, she indicates the coming of storm.
Some birds and animals are supposed to foretell the coming of rain.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
