    Coolane, Martin Ryan Ballickmoylen. Tom Toole Coolane.
    Tom Tolbat carried a sack of potatoes up from Killeshin to Coolane on his shoulder. Tom Toole lifted a large stone. Its weight was ten cwt. Martin Ryan threw a half cwt weight, twenty two yards.

  2. There were many local burnings in this localtiy, such as Mr. Charley Sixsmiths house, Doonane. Much damage was done. There was a mill and an elevator and a steam engine burned. Mr Anthony Coes Garrdendenny, his house was burned. Mr. Brennan's house was burned. There was straw in the chimney and when the fire was lit the straw went on fire. The old barracks in Newtown was burned.
