    Dreaming on the bride-cake is an old custom. Blue is generally worn by the bride and is symbolical of the Blessed Virgin's blue.
    Marry in blue, you'll be constant and true.
    Marry in black you'll wish you were back.
    Marry in brown you'll live out of the town,
    Marry in grey you'll live far away.
    Marry in red you'll wish you were dead.
    Marry in pink your spirit will sink.
    Marry in green you're ashamed to be seen.
