    Darby's of the Leap Castle. ...

    (continued from previous page)
    last came on the place, and when they opened it they found hundreds of human skeletons hanging from the spikes. The Darby family on seeing this the Castle and went home to England. In a wood near this Castle there is a tree with the image of a man's face on it. Long ago Darby hung an innocent Catholic boy, from this tree. The image of his face grew on the tree and is there still.

    One night a couple of men went to steal apples. While they were getting the apples the gate of the orchard opened and a cock crew in the middle of the orchard. The men could see no one. The apple trees were covered with apples but they could not get one. When they were leaving the garden a blast of wind came and lightning flashed. They did not go near the orchard again.
