    Long ago there lived a school master named...

    Long ago there lived a school master named Mr. Patrick Canty, He taught the children in Shrahane district, He spent two hours in each house teaching as in the National School. Mr. and Mrs Canty lived in Derrycarew. They had a shop and a post office. They sold tea and sugar, tobacco and matches, There is a path which he went to the houses teaching called Mr Canty's path.
