  1. Long ago the old people had many cures for different sicknesses.
    COLD; A drink of fresh spring water with sugar in it,or a hot drink of Indian meal gruel,and brown paper with whiskey put on the chest for a chest cold.
    RHEUMATISM;; The white of an egg mixed with turpentine or Crane oil.
    LIVER DISEASE; Broom boiled in water.
    SORE EYES; Bathe them in cold tea.
    QUINSY; Linseed poultice or a young chicken split open and put on the chest.
    KIDNEY DISEASE;Boil spunk and drink the juice.
    A SWELLED FACE; Bathe it with camomoil.
    WARTS; Washing soda.
    COUGHS; Boiled buttermilk.
    CORNS;;Fat bacon dipped in parrafin.
