  1. Trostan townland lies between here and Carrickmacross. No one has ever prospered . in it as St Patrick cursed it.
    When staying in it onenight they stole one of his goats killed it and ate it. When they denied it St Patrick made goat bleat in the man's inside. He cursed the place and in running from it he jumped across a fence and laid the track of his five fingers on a stone these can yet be seen.
