There is a townland in this parish of Conahy, named "Suttonsrath". This name was given to it because a man named Sutton had his rath or fort erected there. This rath is to be seen yet, but the stonework has disappeared. - 1.
There is a hill about two miles from this district called Loc An Dearg. Part of it is on Nicholas Meagher's land, but the highest part of it is on the road leading to Conahy Church. It is also situated in the parish of Conahy. It is not yet certain as to how it got it's name, but it is said that it should be called Cloc An Dearg, because it is comprised mostly of red sandstone.2.
In this district there is a townland called Springhill. It is called by this name because on this land many springs of clean fresh water are situated. Mr. Bowden is owner of most of the land in this district.3.
