  1. The days of the week looked upon as being lucky in our district are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. The unlucky days are Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The following rhyme concerns the days of the week on which people are married
    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
    And Saturday no day at all.
    Another rhyme concerning babies born on certain days is
    Monday's baby is fair of face,
    Tuesday's baby is full of grace,
    Wednesday's baby has far to go,
    Thursday's baby is full of woe,
    Friday's baby is loving and giving,
    Saturday's baby works hard for its living
    But the baby born on the Sabbath Day is bonny and blithe and good and gay.
